Statement Ahead of President Trump’s October 30 Meeting with Xi Jinping

As President Trump prepares to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in South Korea today, the Falun Dafa Information Center respectfully urges the president to highlight two urgent human-rights concerns regarding Falun Gong:

  1. Free jailed practitioners with U.S. family ties: Please raise cases of Falun Gong practitioners currently imprisoned in China whose immediate relatives are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. We ask that you request their release, alongside calling for the end to the persecution of Falun Gong more broadly and the release of all Falun Gong prisoners of conscience. Relevant case lists and documentation are available from the U.S. Department of State, the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, and our website.

  2. End transnational repression targeting Falun Gong in the United States: Please convey that any harassment, surveillance, cyberattacks, disinformation, violent threats, or intimidation of Falun Gong communities and U.S. officials who support Falun Gong on U.S. soil are unacceptable. We ask that you press for an end to such operations.

After 26 years of persecution and crimes against humanity, a clear message on these points would save lives, protect American families, and uphold our commitments to religious freedom and the safety of communities and elected officials in the United States.

Respectfully,
The Falun Dafa Information Center
